Rylee and Zoey were dying to help paint the letters for the cubbies. They had lots of fun doing it.

On Volcano Watch
Mt Redoubt the active volcano that is just across the Cook Inlet (less than 50 miles) from us is rumbling and wanting to erupt. The last time it erupted was 1989. It spewed ash and covered 8,000 sq miles. We are looking at getting ash fall, depending on which way the wind is blowing at the time of the eruption. If it blows it which means we will need to be in our house for 2-3 days and if we were to have to go out you have to wear a mask to not breathe the ash. If you are interested at all, here is a link to watch what is happening with it http://www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/Redoubt.php
Progress on the house
My office/craft room
The master bath...still needs counter top, sinks, faucets, and tile in the shower, but should be done by Tuesday of next week. The carpet comes next week. We are working on finish work, trim touch up paint, etc. We do see the light at the end of the tunnel and look forward to moving in and enjoying the great space. We still have some work to do on the existing house, but that too will come in time.
Cubbies
Ever since starting to think about adding on to our house, I decided I needed a place to keep all the "stuff" we need for winter. I designed these cubbies that we had built for our garage. We each have one marked with our name and there is an extra place for our guests. There are hooks to hang up various items and the seat lifts up to store shoes and other stuff. They have turned out to be even better than I imagined!
Computer Girl!
Zoey loves to play on the computer, especially on www.starfall.com. It is an educational sight and she just loves it. She spends a lot of time on there. You should see her work the mouse on the laptop. She is faster and better than me. She is trying to quit taking naps. I tried to get her to go down the other day and she refused. I knew she was tired, but I looked over at her and this is what I saw. The computer die hard finally tired out!
Happy Birthday Zoe Zoe!!
As many of you know, my little Zoey was due on my birthday, but was born the day after. Ever since she went to see her Grampa in Nevada she became obsessed with horses. She started talking then that she wanted a purple horsey cake for her birthday. She also asked Santa for a purple cowgirl hat for Christmas, which Santa was not able to find. Gramma and Grampa were able to come through and got her one for her birthday. When she got it, she said "I just love it!!!" We had cake and presents with her cousins. I think she had a great day!
Happy Birthday to me!
Crazy Hair Day
Last week at school was Spirit Week. Wednesday was Crazy Hair Day. Here is Rylee sporting her crazy doo. They also did PJ day and Fairy Tale day, both of which I didn't get a picture. Rylee wore her Fairy Tale Princess dress and Zoey was really sad all morning. When I asked her what was wrong, she said "I want to go to Fairy Tale Land!!"

I'm buying blue paint!!!
I was supposed to have my ultrasound on the 20th, but my poor DR caught the Fifths Disease that is going around up here and had to cancel all her appointments. I was rescheduled for yesterday. We got some great shots and were able to look and WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!! Ryan is still a little leery to believe it since they told us Avery was a boy, too. I believe that this one is really a boy since I saw it from many different angles. I am buying blue paint for the nursery! Rylee is REALLY excited and still insists that we name him Sprite.

Must read labels!!!
My girls received a birthday/Christmas package from their uncle Joe (my brother) in Nevada. They were so excited. He sent some goodies, shirts, socks, stickers, coloring books, colored pencils, and markers. Yes, markers! I went ahead a gave them to Avery because she loves to color. I should have looked a little closer to the box to make sure it said WASHABLE...it did not! Avery still has great blue and orange makeup all over her body!
Pantry
We (the girls and I) all day long yesterday organizing and moving into our new pantry. It is really nice for everything to have a place. My old pantry and now be used for all the cooking items that need a home like the rice cooker, crock pot, griddle, etc. It is really nice. The girls did get a little too helpful though. Last night while I was meeting with the person doing the tile. The decided to "help" mommy and take everything out the fridge and put it in the pantry. Don't you just LOVE help from your 3 an 5 year olds! :)

Thump, Thump
Ryan and I have been busy working on the house all day. I finally got in the shower tonight and collapsed on the bed when I got out due to exhaustion. I was laying there and relaxing and I felt the baby move...two distinct thump, thumps on my lower left side. It was exciting. I will be 16 weeks tomorrow. I love to feel the baby move, until they find your ribs and decide to play soccer on them.
The house additons update
It has been awhile since I have posted about the house...we have been slowly getting things done. We are a little stuck. We are waiting on doors, which we ordered in Oct and were told they would be done well before Christmas. They are holding us up. We need them in to do trim and carpet. That's the only things left to do in the upstairs new part. We still have a bunch of stuff to do with the other parts of the existing house that are getting converted into other things. I know Rome wasn't built in a day, but I will be really happy when it is all done. I will post pictures when there is something to take pictures of. Hopefully doors soon!!!

Bringing in the New Year
We usually go to the family cabin for the new year. We have snacks, play games and then do fire works. With the RIDICULOUSLY cold weather, (we haven't seen a day above 0 in over a week) Ryan decided it was too cold to head out there. The party was moved over to Tiffany and Jeremey's house. We feed the Elders dinner and Avery was really tired so we put her to bed. Ryan opted to stay with her and I took Rylee and Zoey over to the Ley's for a little while. When we got home, Lynzie and Miles came over and we played a game with them. Our back neighbors braved the cold and set off fireworks at midnight. We were able to lay on our bed with the girls and Lyn and Miles. We enjoyed the show and were able to stay warm. We hope everyone has a great 2009!
