Out of the mouths of babes

We were eating dinner last night and I asked Rylee if she wanted any zucchini. She looked at me a little confused and said "mommy zucchini is a swimsuit that doesn't have a middle"
The other day...Rylee asked me why I was fat and Jennifer and Tiffany (my skinny sister in laws) weren't. Trying to not get too upset and cry I said "they just have good genes" to which Rylee replied "mommy you have jeans in your closet"
If only the English language weren't so difficult!! :0)

Mommy and Levi

Our handsome little man

Levi got dressed up in his fancy white suit that Gramma Karen bought for him and went to church today to be blessed. It was a sweet blessing and a great first day back to church.

One Month Already!

Wow...I can't believe that it has been a month since little Levi has entered our home...and boy has it been one crazy month! You would think that since I spent the last 6 months of my life with one thing after another happening...I would not expect to have things "settle down" once the baby came. Why do I think things will get back to normal? I have come to realize that this is normal and I have to learn to adjust to it. We have had trials, none have been fun, but none have been life threatening either. I have learned many things in just a short month...that has seemed to drag on. Here are a few of the things that have happened:
---I only got one of the four meals that the Relief Society signed up to bring to me after I came home from the hospital (3 people in a row forgot)
---Levi got jaundice, not bad enough to have to be put in the hospital. Were advised to feed him every 2 hours around the clock which is a schedule he has stuck to since then. Sleep would be nice!
---He didn't poop for 8 days, never thought I would be so happy to change a poopy diaper once it FINALLY happened.
---He Was down 5 more ounces at his 1 week check up
---I needed to start supplementing with formula because my milk was not enough for him. He needed more calories.
---We both got thrush...I ended up on 3 different medications to clear it up after the first caused a serious rash. I lost my milk due to the thrush attacking my sensitive skin and causing major damage to my chest. I really wanted to nurse since I am pretty sure he is the last.
---Levi got a GI bug and projectile vomited out his nose and mouth for 4 days. So hard to see such a little thing go through such a thing. Especially when you have tried really hard to keep him away from germs.

Like I said, nothing was horrible or life threatening, but a trial that we had to endure. I am so thankful to have a family ( immediate and extended) that loves me and supports me and testimony of my Savior and His Gospel. They have been the only constant in my new normal life. I don't know where I would be without either one of those things. To know that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me is a complete comfort. I know that every trial that is made for me to grow as a person and one day reach the full potential that Heavenly Father sees in me. Most everything is out of my control and all I can do is pray and have faith. Faith is a beautiful thing...sometimes difficult to exercise, but indeed a beautiful thing. Getting answers to prayers is amazing. He listens to every prayer even it is simple it is heard. Having a Lord and Savior who atoned for your sins is the best! I hope each of you knows that you have a Heavenly Father who loves you and wants you to be happy. If you don't know that, I would hope you work to find that out for yourself. It will bring you true joy! Posted by Picasa

Spoiled rotten or really loved??

my mom and dad

the kiddos with gramma and grampa

the whole clan minus my favorite brother, Joe

My parents were able to come and visit for two weeks. They were so much help, especially my mom. She cooked, did the dishes, and all the laundry...just to mention a few things. I am so grateful for all her help. I wish that they lived closer so we could spend more time with them. We had a great visit with them. I know that I could of handled having a new baby without her help, but it sure made it much easier. I know most of you think that I am spoiled rotten, but I know that I am really loved! Thanks again mom and dad for everything. We miss you and love you very much!

Rock collecting at the beach

When dad and Ryan were out fishing, we decided to enjoy the warm weather and go the beach for some rock collecting. Avery wasn't too sure about the water crashing on the shore, but they all had fun collecting rocks. We sure have had some AWESOME weather!
