Time for Solids

It is time for Levi to start solids. I really hate solids to begin with...the tongue thrusting it back out, the mess everywhere, and the time it takes to feed them....but he has been a challenge because he doesn't have full control of his head yet, since his noggin is rather big, so getting the food in the mouth is even more of a challenge. He is not very found of rice cereal, but he loves the apple sauce. I know it will get easier with time.

Rylee the helper

Rylee wants to help with Levi, especially pack him around. His almost 18 pound body is a little hard for her to handle. She has enjoyed helping with his therapy at home.

Torticollis Therapy

Levi was diagnosed with torticollis at his 4 month check up. It is just a fancy way of saying he can't turn his head very well to the left side. There is no way to tell how this happened...it could be from the way he layed in the womb to just liking to look right. His head is getting a little flat on one side. His muscles are tight on that side as well. To compensate for his head always being tipped to one side, he also is tipping his pelvis. If not corrected, that could lead to problems trying crawl or walk. He has a very mild case of torticollis which will be easily corrected (some babies get stuck to one side and scream in pain...he can turn left, he just doesn't like to) with therapy and us working with his at home. We go to therapy twice a week. It makes for a busy week, but I am glad we found it.

Our Mister, Mister!

Levi turned 4 months old this week. I took him to the DR for his check up and he is doing great. He weighed in at a whopping 17 lbs 10 ozs. which is the 95th percentile and he was 26 ins long which is the 85th percentile. He is a big boy. She said he is good to go on solids. He does only like to lay to one side which is starting to make his head flat on one side and the muscles tight. The Dr wants me to take him and get some physical therapy done. She says it is crucial to get it done during the developmental stages so it doesn't develop into something that can't be fixed later. He she is a great baby, very happy and content to be watching his sisters and whatever else is happening around him. He is sleeping well at night..usually sleeps through the night...sometimes up once...I sure do love my little man!

10 years down an eternity to go!

Ten years ago today, I was baptized and became a member of the LDS church. Wow...I sure can't believe how the time has passed and how my life has been truly blessed. I have learned so many things...gospel related and about myself. My testimony of my Savior and His atoning sacrifice has grown leaps and bounds by being able to serve my Heavenly Father in many callings from door greeter to stake missionary and from primary worker to most recently YW president, as well as being a wife and mother. Having a loving husband and being able to raise our children in a manner that is pleasing unto Him is a great responsibility. The family is central to His plan. I enjoy being a mom and teaching my children right from wrong and about their Savior helping them to build their own testimony. That is my purpose in life. It is not always the easiest thing to do, but it such an important responsibility.

To know that I have a Father in Heaven who knows me....my strengths and my weaknesses warms my heart. He gives me opportunities and trials that allow me to find the potential He sees in me, within myself to learn and grow becoming a better person with each challenge that comes my way. He listens to my prayers and answers each one...not always the way I want them answered, but the way they need to be answered. He allows me to have the companion of the Holy Ghost...a comforter who testifies of truth and helps guide me to do the things that He wants me to do. Feeling the Spirit and obeying His promptings gives you such a spiritual high...a feeling so hard to describe, but one you will never forget feeling. I am so thankful to have the gospel in my life. I couldn't imagine my life without it nor would I ever want to imagine the huge void I would have if I didn't have it. Having the knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel and Heavenly Father's plan is the only way to have true happiness. I am thankful to all the great people that I have met as I have been on this journey. They have been great examples to me, helping my testimony grow and touched my life in their own special way. I have a deep love for each one that crossed my path. Thank you! Being baptized is the most important decision that I ever made in my life and I am glad that I jumped in and have never looked back. To me there is no other way! I am so blessed!

My sweet Zoey

This sweet girl warms my heart. Every day at lunch, she looks up at me with her big blue eyes and asks me for strawberry short cake (strawberry milk) and a ham, cheese, lettuce, mustard, and ketchup...yes ketchup sandwich and she loves every bite of it!

The other day, I was getting dressed and Rylee asked my why I still had a fat tummy. Zoey looked at her and with a little bit of disgust in her voice she matter of factly replied "it is her leftovers from Levi." She made me smile. She makes me smile everyday. She always has something cute or funny to say. I love my sweet Zoe Zoe!

Behind Every Good Hunter...

...is an even better guide. Haven't you watched Jim Shockey and the outdoor channel or is my husband the only one who does that?

This is the mule deer that my brother's buddy got this year. He did black powder muzzle loader and had quite the adventure. The first shot was not a fatal shot so they ended up tracking it for sometime. I do believe that they would have lost it if it weren't for my brother. Tom sent an email out of their adventure. He is quite the writer...could pulish his own book! Although it would have to be fiction because who knows how much really happened and how much he totally made up!!!

Baby Blues

I was trying to get a picture of Levi and his beautiful blue eyes. He wouldn't look at me...just kept smiling at his daddy. They have some special testosterone bond :) Check out those blue eyes...I didn't color enhance them at all. Blue shirts tend to make them really pop. He is sporting his new shirt. Thanks Angeline!
