(I borrowed the pic from my friends blog, thanks Diane, since I haven't had a chance to go see the chaos myself this year) It is dip netting season, where residents of AK take huge nets down to the beach to catch large amounts of fish for their family. They get something like 25 for the head of household and 10 for each dependent. All I can say is that it is TOO many fish to clean and put away. All those dots in the water are people out in the water trying to catch fish. The beach is also filled with tents. You can click on the pic to make it larger so you can see it better.
