On April 30th, Ryan had surgery on both of his knees. His left knee had two places in his meniscus that were torn. They thought that the right knee had a tear as well, but it ended up to be only cartridge damage. The DR cleaned it up the best he could. It was a rough two weeks…first having to stay down and rest was hard for him, but he had issues with pain meds, then got blood clots in this calf, and had heart palpitations. The heart is still causing some problems. They are not sure what the problem is. I think a second opinion is in order…he does not seem to be too thrilled with the idea.
Hanging out on the airbed hooked to the polar packs, that ice the knees 24 hours a day.
The polar packs.
